[b/]Name of Species[/b]
- The Lacertoj
[b/]Appearance and Biology[/b]- The average Lacerto is around six and a half feet in height, but extremely this and light. Their bones are hollow, and they have six multi-directional joints in each are and leg bone, as well as a long tail extending from the spine. The tail of a female is tipped with a hard, sharp bone spur, while the tip of a tail from a male is blunt and rounded.
They also have five sharp claws on both of their hands and feet, to enable them to grip onto rock or branch more securely. This is to help anchor them in place. They also have scaled, tough 'skin' stretched between their arms, legs and tail, to enable them to glide on almost any breeze, using their tails to control both speed and direction. This is why their bodies are so light.
They have beaked mouths, but a smooth, split tongue, which allows them to create a recognizable approximation of most spoken language.
All youths, at the age of two years, also have a filter inserted into their throat, which filters the atmosphere of almost any planet that they make landfall on, and lets them use the contents of that atmosphere as air for themselves, so that they may breathe. Roughly three quarters of their species survive the placement of the filter, and those that do not are considered a reasonable blood-price to pay, for the survival of the rest of their species.
They are also omnivores, so they can survive in almost any environment, on almost any sustenance.
[b/]Culture and Society[/b]- This covers everything for day to day life. How do they interact with each other? What do they do for recreation? How are their families and cities grouped together? What kind of art (if any) do they value?
[b/]Preferred Habitat[/b]- This goes along with their biology. Do they need to be submersed in water to survive? What sorts of climates/conditions can they or can't they survive in?
[b/]Philosophy and Religion[/b]- You don't need to create an entire religion here, but give a brief description of popular deities or who/what they believe in.
[b/]Technological Level and Space Flight[/b]- Has this species discovered electricity? Sea travel? Advanced tools and machinery? Flight? Space travel?
[b/]History and Interspecies Relations[/b]- Give a brief outline of the specie's history (3-4 paragraphs) and how they interact with other species (if any). Specifically include relations with humans and if they have met them before, how they met, how their current relations are, and any major trade interactions.
