Long-Range Scanning provides players with direct, accomplishable missions on the board. These threads are preset builds with specific goals that are instantly considered site canon. Whats more, Scanner Missions are worth extra credits to complete!
Anyone on the site is allowed to accept a mission. Consider Scanner Missions as smaller, more common Events. Some missions may require a specific task to be completed within the thread, but the methods and ending will still be left up to the writers. Other missions may simply be to investigate anomalies, leaving the players to steer the thread any way seen fit. Any requirements for the thread will be stated in the mission briefings, as well as any information needed to complete them.
There are no limits for post amounts in a Scanner Mission, so make it as long or as short as desired. These are meant to be story driven threads, so just have fun with them and make them interesting to read. The caveat to this, however, is that each player may only participate in one mission at a time.
After each mission is completed, players must deliver a Mission Report in order to be given their credit bonus. These are brief, informational summaries to help other players get an idea of the mission later on and may be used to create site-wide Events or further Scanner Missions. Mission reports should include the following:
Subject = mission code name
Body
