Organization Name: Security Task Group
Leader: No top position, led by collective congress of Jump Commanders and colony Directors
Who can join: The STG currently consists of only human only members. There is no mandate against alien participation, but the organization was constructed from human inhabitants from the Sol System.
While not requiring any prior military or police service to join, less than 3% of the STG do not. Most of the agents were picked from the Sol System United Federation military or from private security firms. As such, the agents of the STG have a variety of skills that range from weapons and security to first aid and infiltration.
Regardless of prior training, however, every STG agent goes through the same rigorous training. It takes many years to complete and covers a large field of topics including, but not limited to:
STG Agents are not considered a military power as the efforts of the Prometheus Project are classified as civilian exploration and research. They serve as a civilian security group that provide much needed protection for the humans of Prometheus until such time as an official government can be elected and a former military can arise in the new galaxy.
Mission and beliefs: The central focus of the STG is the security of the human settlers on Prometheus both at home and abroad. They stand to protect and serve the people of the colonies and to guide them through the hazards of establishing the colonies on the new world, as well as to lead exploration groups (Jump Teams) from Prometheus throughout the galaxy. As a volunteer group, the STG agents joined because each of them knew the importance of what the Prometheus Project hoped to accomplish, and they wanted to provide the help only they could provide by utilizing their unique skills.
Base of operations: The STG is centralized out of Perseus colony, where the majority of Jump Team operations are led. Each of the colonies except for Theseus has their Jump Teams, but most of the launches occur under the direction and lead of Commander Stark, who runs STG operations in Perseus.
Formation: STG Agents are formed into small, organized groups of 4-5 members called "boots" by higher agents. Each team has a Team Leader, selected by the colony's Jump Commander, and provide support to the agency and colony as a whole.
Above the Team Leaders are Jumpers, adept agents who have excelled in leadership skills and training, that lead Jump Teams from Prometheus off-world to explore the galaxy. Jump Teams usually only have the one agent, whose main task is to accompany, guide, and protect members of the team (usually scientists) for their mission. Occasionally a mission may prove too dangerous and require a second agent along, who is generally pulled from a "boot" team under the direction of the Jumper.
Jump Commanders are the ranking agents in each of the colonies except for Theseus, who instead has a Security Director who holds the same rank. Jump Commanders oversee all operations within their assigned colony and the agents who operate out of them, including the missions of all Jump Teams.
In congress with the Commanders, given that the agency is not an officially appointed military, the STG follows the directives of the Directors of each colony, who are the heads of administration for each colony. Day-to-day operations and mission parameters fall within the purview of the Directors, but security measures as well as all combat and military related issues ultimately fall under the Commanders' control.
Assets: As the forward arm of the human colonists, as well as their security force, the STG wields an impressive arsenal of highly advanced weapons and armor, as well as interstellar ships capable of utilizing FTL engines.
Standard Equipment setup:
Specialized equipment is occasionally assigned to an agent who has undergone advanced training. These members are usually Jumpers, trained beyond the general scope of a boot to handle extreme situations. Specialized equipment may include, but is not limited to:

Standard Equipment setup:
- GT 91A - Standard handgun, utilizes enhanced heat sink focus technology to fire short range, effective rounds of high intensity energy bolts. Effective range is 120 meters, standard capacity of 40 rounds
- V-Tech Advanced Support System - Highly effective, highly versatile armor system created for the purpose of exploring and surviving on dangerous, uninhabitable worlds. Developed actuators support the joints to increase mobility and decrease impact. Capable of dispersing extreme heat or cold in a vacuum to certain degrees, allows for wearer to operate in open space.
- GT 58 - Standard assault rifle, utilizes enhanced heat sink focus technology to fire mid range, effective rounds of high intensity energy bolts. Effective range is 800 meters, standard capacity of 200 rounds.
