Name: Alexander Stark
Age: 34
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Prometheus- Perseus Colony
Occupation: STG Agent, Jump Commander for Perseus
Physical Description: Alex stands at 6'3'' and weighs about 200lbs, though most of that is very lean muscle. The training to join the STG is very intense and takes years of hard physical training to prepare for the rigors of the job. He has hazel eyes and brown hair, including a beard he usually lets grow out.
Face Claim: John Krasinski
Mentality: Alex is, first and foremost, a leader in his colony. As the Jump Commander for Perseus, its his responsibility to spearhead the exploration and diplomacy operations and he takes that responsibility to heart. He cares for his teammates and does his best to keep a clear and level head when facing dangerous situations. He has trained extensively and faced many challenges, so he bears his experience to face the world with confidence.
Alex is amicable but professional when dealing with unknown entities, as it happened when his team first encountered the petalians. Keeping a clear head, he avoided turning the situation into conflict when one of the petalians fired upon his group, thinking them hostile. In the end, using his diplomacy, he convinced the petalians to partner with the humans.
History: Alex signed up for the Prometheus Project when he was 26, longing for a change in pace from his life in the Sol System United Federation Army. He was tired of the same old grunt work and doing nothing to make anything better, and Prometheus was the shining hope of all humanity. They were taking all hands at the time and he got in on the ground floor, joining the Security Task Group. He wanted to see new skies and break new grounds. Life in the Sol System had become monotonous to many, cycling between one space station or another and struggling just to survive. After a while, the recycled air could drive anyone insane.
The STG was small and focused, their first mission that of exploration and discovery. Every member selected had to have some form of military background, but it was a "just in case" clause. Humans weren't leaving the Sol System to fight, they were leaving to explore and find a new home. That fact alone pushed Alex to strive for success in his training and he took to it quickly. The other members in the group became his friends and then his family. He spent most of his time surrounded by them and it created strong bonds between the members.
Doctor Halize met with the STG often, conveying her hopes and dreams for the mission and how important it was for humanity. She stressed the role that the STG would play in the new system, leading the exploration teams and ensuring their safety, as well as that of the colonies. Alex was appointed as the team commander for Perseus upon the completion of the construction project and his training, and he eagerly accepted the position.
When the ships encountered the anomaly in space, Alex was in cryo-sleep, unaware of the situation. He was to be awakened upon reaching their destination, so when the crew did pull him out of sleep to brief him on their whereabouts he was confused and distraught. However, upon seeing the fear in the crew's eyes he quickly pulled them together and joined with the ship captains to safely steer the ARCs to what would soon become their new home, Prometheus. The other commanders were brought out of cryo upon setting down and he caught them up on their changed mission.
The new galaxy was nothing the ARC crews could have prepared for, but Alex worked hard in helping to secure their new home. He developed security measures for colony defense and assisted in the establishment of the other three until they were all fully functioning. During this time, he also led many Jump Team missions to explore the surrounding planets near Prometheus. One such mission led his team to the humans' first encounter with an alien civilization; his level thinking and clear intent on peace prevented their encounter from turning hostile, and he met with leaders of the petalians to form a diplomatic friendship with the alien species.
Additional Information: Mass-comm cybernetic implant developed in team with the petalians.

The nights on Prometheus were hard to measure.
In the three years that the ARCs had been there, the scientists had been working non stop on cataloguing, researching, and experimenting with their new surroundings. Everything here was so new that they would never be able to study everything they wanted to in their lifetimes. Still, they stuck to the most essential projects first; food, water, dangerous life forms, climate, what have you. During their time there, they'd discovered that, even though their distance from the new sun was similar to Earth's, it was not exactly the same.
The star was larger, for one, so it shed a similar light and heat on the planet, but Prometheus was further away and it made the nights slightly longer than the days. Not a major issue, in and of itself; the soil here was incredibly fertile and growing crops was a cinch, and the difference in light was only about an hour or so. The problem really just came down to his own preferences. If he woke at a time he knew it should be day, looking outside into darkness still threw off his internal clock. He wondered if he'd ever get used to that.
Still, Alex faced everything with the same excitement and wonder he'd felt upon first reaching Prometheus. Sometimes it was still difficult to believe. Sure, the ARCs had been thrown off course somehow to a region of space that was of yet uncharted, but they'd still made it. Humans had traveled to a new galaxy, full of new wonders and new life and new experiences, and he was there to see it all begin. Help make it happen. He knew in his heart that he'd never get used to that feeling, and he was perfectly okay with it.
"Windows, unshade," he commanded, climbing out of bed. The glass automatically responded, turning from a grayish frost to clear glass. Outside, many of the scientists were already hard at work with the same fervor, though it was entirely possible that they had just forgotten to sleep altogether. A few carried sample crates and testing equipment, heading for the lab. The sky was still dark, but the sun would be up soon.
Three years. It had been three years since they'd first established the colonies and already there was so much that had been accomplished. Growing crops and food stores were ever increasing the viability of their homes, construction of new buildings and shelters was at an all time high, and water filtration was meeting the standards every day. There was still a long way to go, but they were getting there. So far, Perseus had grown enough to wake up two waves of sleepers, increasing their numbers drastically. Achilles had been forced to wake up an extra wave ahead of schedule to face manpower issues after the plague had struck them last year, but they were recovering strongly.
Alex stepped outside and took in the fresh air. Clean and real, recycled and filtered a million times as it had been on the stations. That, in and of itself, might have been the best part of this whole mission. In the distance, toward the outskirts of town, rose a massive radio tower. It was monitored daily and constantly pumped out only one message, heading in expanding waves in all directions. It was meant to broadcast their location to the Sol System, wherever they were, in hopes that those back home would find them eventually and come to join them. Three years it had been running, nonstop, and no reply had come yet. The tower used the same technology to broadcast as their hyperspace engines, so it had assuredly reached a vast distance already. Wherever Prometheus was, Sol was still just too far out of reach.
Hopefully, he thought, one day, you'll come join us. Until then, there was no point in despairing. While some of the colonists still had family members back in Sol, most had brought them along. Alex had no one else to miss, his only family being his friends in the STG, but he still prayed for the message to reach Sol. He wanted to share the wonders he'd found here with everyone. He wanted the human race to survive, to flourish again. But until the people back there could get their message, the people on Prometheus would keep building and keep thriving. They'd continue to make this planet, this galaxy, a new home for everyone.
